What's not to like about Hodor?  I mean, he's helpful he's caring, he's happy all the time.  Like previous poster have said he is the innocence in that corrupt world, and he is good comic relief,  to steal a little from a common phrase, he's like the velvet glove that comes with the iron fist that these books often hit you with...repeatedly.  Also Kristian Nairn seem like a real stand up and awesome dude.
