Sound like the tagline to a great film? It’s the real life story of writer David H. Steinberg who penned the Dreamworks animated feature “Puss in Boots,” as well as many live action flicks including “Slackers,” “American Pie 2,” and “National Lampoon’s Barely Legal” and even a newly released novel, “Last Stop This Town.”
I go on location to David’s home office (SWEET PAD!) and talk shop about the in’s and out’s of being a professional screenwriter. David talks about segueing from live action to animation, his initial pitch meeting at Disney that got him started in animation, his process to approach writing a script AND offers up feedback to writers looking to break in to animation.
